February 2020 Newsletter

We have made it through January unscathed, and Spring cannot come soon enough! However, I wanted to include our inclement weather policy for our families and friends that have not received a copy of it…click here for details. I would like to thank our clinical team, Kim Hailey, Tanisha Rorie, and Jonathan Martin for their hard work, and attention to detail. Nevins has had significant growth in the month of January for our B-3 Supported Employment program, and the growth has required more time, and attention to assure that we are providing the best quality of service, and hiring the most qualified staff. – Adam Lawlor, Executive Director

Giving Tuesday “Building Stronger” Project

“Building Stronger” Project Nevins has been providing person-centered care and employment services to adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities for 60 years. Improving the quality of life for our special needs population is our top priority. Operating for 60 years is a historic accomplishment  in itself, but Nevins has also been operating in one of Charlotte’s historic structures. The two most historic buildings that Nevins operate out of were originally built in 1923 and 1940. Our capital campaign goal is to raise $50,000 to support the Nevins “Building Stronger” project. Funds raised will allow us to address aging components and conduct repairs to one of our campus’s oldest structures – the Auditorium. Help us “Build Stronger” with your financial donation! Raising funds for capital improvements to one of our most historic structures will allow us to focus on helping adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities to live their best life […]

June Newsletter is here!

The 14th Annual Festa Italiana was held on May 19th, and we could not have asked for a better day! We had a great turn out and Nevins certainly shined bright with its musical performances, live art demonstration and of course our wonderful participants. We owe a BIG THANK YOU to Dr. Vincent and Sandra Voci, the St Anthony Foundation, the entire Festa committee, and all the volunteers (chef, performers, etc) and all the wonderful guests who made our mission their cause! Also, thank you to Pam Glass and our Vice Chair Tom Gottcent for taking the lead on the silent auction. Tom and Pam coordinated and organized one of the best silent auctions the Festa has had with over 95 items donated.
